ABOUT US
Founded in 1997, and with locations in Northern Virginia and Miami, Adventure Links offers a wide variety of outdoor camp options and group team building programs. Our 425-acre site at Hemlock Overlook Regional Park offers a range of exciting and educational team building activities including a high ropes course and zip line. Adventure Links' highly skilled instructors create an atmosphere of support and encouragement that allows campers and group participants to make the most of their experience with Adventure Links. Groups of all sizes and age ranges trust Adventure Links to provide them with an unparalleled experiential learning experience.
ABOUT YOU
Besides loving the outdoors and sharing your knowledge, you must also meet these qualifications:
- At least 21 years old
- Genuine desire to work with youth
- Able to work full and active days outside in the elements
- Flexible, good humored and personable
- Strong work ethic, responsible and accountable
- Experience working with youth and experience in leadership
- Must be able to operate a motor vehicle
- A criminal background check will be performed
ABOUT THE JOB
Our Freelance Instructors will be when we are in need of more instructors for our daily programs. We love having lots of people at Hemlock, and at times need more instructors to provide the best and safest experience for our guests. As a Freelance Instructor you will...
- Facilitate and lead participants on our low ropes course
- Lead team building activities and ice breakers
- Lead environmental education activities
- Guide groups throughout Hemlock Overlook
- Check-in participants and ensure all paperwork is filled out
- Potentially lead groups on our high ropes course
- And more based on your skill set
COMPENSATION
In addition to being able to pick the events you want to work and spend the day having exciting adventures at Hemlock Overlook, Freelance Instructors are classified as independent contractors and receive the following:
- Enriching paid training by experts in their field
- Compensation of at least $80 per full day program worked ($40 for half day programs)
- The option to pick and choose your events/shifts
- Access to additional unpaid training sessions to further grow your knowledge and experience
- Complimentary Adventure Links t-shirt
- 30% off all summer camp programs for your immediate family
