How about giving your camper the opportunity to experience an OVERNIGHT CANOE CAMPING ADVENTURE on LAKE MOOMAW AND go ROCK CLIMBING and CAVING?  We designed this itinerary to offer new challenges to our return campers and adventurous new campers. On this overnight we’ll spend a full day away from the comforts and convenience of the Adventure Links bus and campers will get a chance to enjoy the slower paced life of canoe travel. Campers will play a key role in making this trip a success, there will be times when everyone will need to work hard to accomplish group tasks with the understanding that their effort will pay off in the form of rainproof tents, delicious meals and ample time to explore and have fun.

Team Building - Sunday
Location: Adventure Links at Hemlock Overlook - Clifton, VA
This afternoon will be filled with games, laughter, and initiatives as part of the group's team journey on our High Ropes Challenge Course. Following the Challenge Course, and as part of the pre-trip preparation we will be issuing necessary gear, loading the bus, and packing away personal items. Tent groups will be established, camp will be set up and dinner will be cooked. Following dinner there will be campfire activities and a review of the week’s events to come. Make sure campers have eaten a late breakfast or an early lunch, as lunch will not be provided this day.

Rock Climbing - Monday
Location: Elizabeth Furnace - Strausburg, VA
We wake up today and travel to the George Washington National Forest, set up camp and are introduced to the natural rock-wall playground. We learn some basics of rock climbing and spend the rest of the day putting them to use.

Canoeing - Tuesday - Thursday
Location: Lake Moomaw, VA - George Washington National Forest
In the morning we will head to Bolar Mountain Marina where we’ll pack our canoes  with everything we’ll need for the next two days and head off onto the water.  We’ll take our time paddling out to Greenwood point learning how to navigate our canoes and explore along the way.  By late afternoon we’ll arrive at the Greenwood Point campsite which will be more secluded than the usual as it can only be reached by boat or by a 4 mile hike, Here we’ll spend the evening setting  up camp, swimming, fishing and eating.  At night we’ll stoke up a campfire roast ourselves some desert.

Caving -Friday
Location: Glade Cave, Harrisonburg, VA
We explore the depths of Glade Cave, learning about cave ecology and formations while crawling and wiggling.

Closing Activities- Saturday
Location: Adventure Links at Hemlock Overlook - Clifton, VA
We wake up this morning, have a community breakfast and pack up for our drive home. When we arrive back at Adventure Links Base camp we will unpack our belongings and get ready for the family picnic
