EarthQuest - (3rd - 4th grade)
The EarthQuest program was originally designed for 3rd and 4th graders to experience outdoor studies in an exciting location that many 5th and 6th grade students travel to for our Team Building program. The EarthQuest program originally was planned for the Spring while older students are testing, the EarthQuest program has since grown to become a three season option.
During your EarthQuest day students will travel through four stations around our park exploring different science topics. Students complete their passport by collecting stamps for every successful station they complete. Stations include Soil, Water, Investigation and Life Forces. Activities are geared toward reviewing topics from the Virginia Science Standards of Learning so the experience will relate directly to the classroom lessons.
Environmental Education - (5th - 8th grade)
Environmental education introduces students to a diverse ecosystem that coexists with the world they know, leaving them with perspective and knowledge of their natural surroundings. Discover habitats of mid-Atlantic flora and fauna through hands-on exploration. Watershed Studies, Ecology and Land Forms lessons provide the educational basis for an eye-opening experience. Activities are geared toward reviewing topics from the Virginia Science Standards of Learning so the experience will relate directly to the classroom lessons.
